ATV Expedition in Arenal: jungle, mud, and volcano in its purest state

Arenal looks best from a terrace. It looks best covered in mud, after crossing a river aboard an ATV with the volcano above you and the jungle closing in on the sides. This route is not a stroll: it is a real expedition through rural roads, jungle trails, and water crossings that test both the vehicle and the driver.

Before setting off, a specialized instructor explains how to operate the ATV and the safety rules. Throughout the route, the group is accompanied by instructors at all times to maximize adrenaline and minimize risks.

The route:

1. Briefing and equipment driving and safety instructions before starting; helmet and protective gear included.
2. Rural roads first kilometers to get the feel of the vehicle and terrain.
3. Jungle trails delve into the dense vegetation of the Arenal area; the canopy closes over the track.
4. Water crossings wade through rivers and streams with the ATV; the most intense moment of the route.
5. Scenic spots stops with views of the Arenal volcano and the lake; the best backdrop for photos of the day.

Practical information:

Minimum recommended age: 16 years to drive. Minors accompanied by an adult in a double ATV. Wear clothes that can get dirty: mud is part of the experience. Closed footwear is essential. The route may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions.
